Strategy Adds 196 Bitcoin Amid Price Dip Below $110K

Michael Saylor’s Strategy, the world’s largest public holder of Bitcoin, has expanded its already massive crypto treasury with another purchase as BTC slipped below the $110,000 mark last week.

According to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing on Monday, Strategy acquired 196 Bitcoin for $22.1 million during the week ending Sunday. The purchase came at an average price of $113,048 per BTC, with the coin trading above $112,000 at the start of the week before briefly dipping under $110,000 last Thursday, data from CoinGecko shows.

With this latest acquisition, Strategy’s total Bitcoin holdings now stand at 640,031 BTC, valued at roughly $47.35 billion based on an average purchase price of $73,983 per coin.

Slowing Pace of Purchases

While the company remains a consistent buyer, this $22 million allocation represents one of its smallest weekly Bitcoin acquisitions to date.

In recent months, Strategy has slowed its aggressive buying streak, favoring smaller, incremental additions rather than the multi-hundred-million-dollar purchases it became known for in past years.

This trend suggests a more measured approach, possibly aligning with market conditions and Bitcoin’s consolidation at high levels following its record-setting rally earlier in 2025.

Saylor Predicts Year-End Bitcoin Strength

Despite the cautious buying pace, co-founder Michael Saylor remains bullish on Bitcoin’s long-term trajectory. Speaking last week, he acknowledged the near-term resistance facing BTC, citing both macroeconomic headwinds and institutional adoption pressures.

“I think that as we work through the resistance of late and some macro headwinds, we’ll actually see Bitcoin start to move up smartly again toward the end of the year,” Saylor said.

His comments reflect optimism that Bitcoin will rebound as broader adoption accelerates, reinforcing Strategy’s thesis that BTC is a superior treasury reserve asset compared to traditional stores of value.

Why Strategy Matters

Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings dwarf those of any other public company, making its accumulation patterns a key sentiment driver in the market. Each new acquisition—big or small—reinforces its reputation as a cornerstone of corporate Bitcoin adoption.

As the firm edges toward 650,000 BTC in reserves, its moves continue to symbolize the intersection of traditional corporate finance and digital assets, with Saylor positioning Strategy as the ultimate “Bitcoin standard” company.
